Central Elementary School requires all students to follow a dress code. Dress for boys consists of navy or khaki slacks or shorts with navy, white, or red polo shirts or white button up oxford cloth shirts. Dress for girls consists of navy or khaki skirts, jumpers, slacks, capris or shorts, and navy, white, or red shirts or white Peter Pan collared blouses. All shirts must be tucked in, and belts are to be worn by students in grades third through sixth. Slacks may not have pockets, zippers or other ornamentation on the sides or lower portion of the garment such as cargo pants. Shirts must have collars. White tee shirts may be worn under uniform shirts. Shoes are to be low topped athletic shoes. Roller shoes, flip flops and strapless shoes are not permitted. During cold weather, white long sleeved turtlenecks or long sleeve spirit shirts may be worn under polos. Coats and jackets are to be solid colored, lightweight, and must button or zip up the front. The only outerwear that may be worn inside the school is the Central sweatshirt or a lightweight jacket. Students will be required to remove all other outerwear while in the building. Hoodies, starter jackets, and outerwear featuring advertisements, cartoon characters or other such embellishments may not be worn to school.
Fridays have been designated as blue jeans optional days. These must be plain blue jeans (boys and girls) or capris (girls). No holes or elaborate decorations are permitted. Jeans may be worn with any approved uniform shirt or any Central spirit shirt. No other shirt may be worn with jeans unless permission has been granted by school staff for a “dress code free day” or the like.
In addition to the items mentioned previously, the following rules must be followed:
